Mohawk introduces the world’s first asthma and allergy-friendly certified carpet, Pur-Ease. They’ve leveled up their SmartStrand brand fibers with a built-in probiotic technology that reduces household allergens and is the first carpet of this type to be certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation. Initial testing shows that SmartStrand’s Pur-Ease carpet removes 75% of allergens from the home. This initial testing is based on a 3-month trial, and Mohawk is continuing a longer testing phase at this time. As this technology is brand new and we have no experience or customer feedback for results, we are not able to vet this product. But it is an exciting technology that we look forward to learning more about.
