Room By Room With 2021's Design Trends

Welcome, 2021! Where interior wish lists are made… and made over into reality. Spending so much time at home, one thing we all came to know is that our homes have become top on our lists of priorities and continue to grow with us as we emerge through these trying times. Did you make a Decor Resolution and are unsure where to start? As we walk you through the 2021 home, you’ll find inspiration, decor tips, and design strategies to turn your resolutions into solutions!

In the Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of the home and the trending designs for 2021 are practical and beautiful at the same time. Picture if you will, a solid-surface backsplash that slides to reveal hidden shelves. We’ll see more stone slabs for the backsplash - sliding or not, that will coordinate with interesting mosaic tile features. Natural, lighter woods for the floors and cabinets that mix with painted cabinetry are still sought after and mixed metals for fixtures/hardware are the new reveal that we cannot get enough of.

The Bathroom

Patterns that play well together in today’s bathroom are essential. Create eye-catching design by combining different sizes and colors from the same tile series and be sure to highlight your design with an amazing accent wall. Chevron and Herringbone are still highly sought after and there’s no better place than the 2021 bathroom to showcase these patterns. Did you know that larger format tiles will visually expand your space? For more tile style tips, ask us.

Fashion Forward Formal Dining Rooms

Maybe it’s that we’re dreaming of gathering around the table with friends and family without any interruption from the open floor plan. The Formal Dining Room has been gaining in popularity for a couple of years now and in 2021 we anticipate this “old” room will become new with fashion forward design.

LOOK UP! Design enthusiasts are turning their attention to the fifth wall - the ceiling. What we can expect, more beams, coffered (as pictured) papered to match walls, and painted in patterns or drenched in color.

Traditional. Classical. Beautiful.

2021 TREND ALERT: KIDS BEDROOMS WILL BE DESIGNED AROUND THE DESK

It goes without saying it aloud, but if you have children the one thing you’ve been learning along with them is that open floor plans are not conducive to on-line schooling. There are just too many distractions. Our inspirational ‘Kid Rooms’ are designed with that in mind providing plenty of space to work in quiet, ahem!, solitude.

unlike kids rooms, the master bedroom is the place to put the day away. no work desks allowed.

The Hardest Working Rooms

Does your Decor Resolution include updating the hardest working rooms in your home? Whenever possible start with the floors, and be sure they are designed to take a beating.

In The Living Room

As we move forward into 2021, neutral and natural interiors are the mainstay. Warm and inviting in high-performing comfortable textiles, natural materials in hardwood flooring and stone fireplaces that stretch floor-to-ceiling, all accented with pops of color in area rugs, sofa pillows, and drapery panels.

Hard to reach windows are easily covered and operated with motorized window coverings and hardwood floors are still the popular choice for living room floors. Want to see more flooring choices? Statement Stairways

Stairs are the design feature you didn’t know you had! Have you been wanting to make a statement in your interior, but not sure where to start? The stairs provide the perfect place to complement any interior style with unexpected patterns. Here’s a few of our favorites.
